We began building this storied legacy upon Maybank Investment Bank’s incorporation in 1973. A watershed moment came in 2011 when Maybank Berhad, via Maybank Investment Bank Holdings Sdn Bhd, acquired Kim Eng Holdings. This bolstered Maybank's investment banking operations. Collectively, Maybank Investment Bank and Kim Eng have been rebranded as Maybank Kim Eng, thus accelerating Maybank's regional reach.

   Nov

  • Launched KataKatha - Southeast Asian Conversations on Culture and the Arts, a formative regional arts and culture initiative. The 4-day conversation took place in Kuala Lumpur from 12-15 November 2015, and was interspersed with public readings, movie screenings, and a public forum.

   Oct

  • Hosted Invest ASEAN 2015: Indonesia, the sixth and last Invest ASEAN conference for the year.

   Aug

  • Hosted Invest ASEAN 2015: Philippines, the fifth Invest ASEAN conference for the year.
  • Kim Quang Thien was appointed CEO of Maybank Kim Eng Securities Limited (Vietnam).

  • Hosted Invest ASEAN 2015: Thailand, the fourth Invest ASEAN conference for the year.

   May

  • Transaction Manager, Joint Principal Advisor, Joint Global Coordinator, Joint Bookrunner, Joint Managing Underwriter and Joint Underwriter for Malakoff Corporation Berhad's MYR2.74 billion IPO - Malaysia's largest IPO since 2012.
  • Hosted Invest ASEAN 2015: Vietnam, the third Invest ASEAN conference for the year.

  • Sole Financial Advisor, Sole Bookrunner and Joint Underwriter for Platinum Group's THB5,180 million IPO - the largest property IPO and the second largest IPO in Thailand in 2015 as at its pricing date.
  • Outstanding performance at the RAM League Awards.  Among the awards won, for the RAM Award of Distinction 2014, Maybank Investment Bank placed first for both Lead Manager Award and Lead Manager Award Islamic categories for programme value.
  • Hosted Invest ASEAN 2015: Singapore, the second Invest ASEAN conference for the year.
  • Announced partnership with Kiva, the world's first personal micro-lending marketplace, in an expansion of the Trade [&Give] initiative.
  • Fad’l Mohamed was appointed Deputy CEO of Maybank Kim Eng (Malaysia).

  • John Fei was appointed CEO of Kim Eng Securities (Hong Kong).
  • Hosted CAP10 ASEAN CEO Summit in Kuala Lumpur which brought together the leading drivers of the region's 10 capital markets to chart paths to prosperity as ASEAN moves toward becoming a single marketplace.  This was the first of a series of Invest ASEAN conferences for 2015.

  • Sole Placement Agent for Khazanah’s divestment of its 2% stake in Tenaga Nasional Berhad. Successfully placed 86.75 million TNB shares and raised MYR702.67 million in what was the largest Malaysian share placement of the year
  • Joint Lead Manager and Joint Managing Underwriter for the relisting of Maxis. This IPO raised MYR11.2 billion making it the largest IPO in Malaysian history and the single largest IPO ever in Southeast Asia
  • Sole Principal Advisor, Lead Arranger and Manager for UMW’s maiden sukuk issuance valued at MYR800 million, marking the company’s debut in the Islamic capital market
